Hi everybody! My name is Danko Tarabar, and at the moment I am an incoming freshman of the class of 2012, at a small liberal arts College in southern Wisconsin, Beloit College. I will most probably double major in Economics and Math, but I may also go for Economics + Political Science. The process of applying to American universities is not an easy one, but if you are determined, you have a fair chance of success. Of course, willpower alone is not enough. Had there not been for the IAC crew (Elizabeth, DragStoj aka Piksi, Vedrana...) I would not have made it. They helped me a lot with my application, SAT test, TOEFL test, not to mention the great moral support! Now, why study in the United States? Even while in high school in New Hampshire (I graduated from high school in the U.S.), I noticed just how different our two educational systems were. The U.S. ed system is more flexible, more broad, and it offers endless possibilites for studying. You will certainly perfect your English, learn about different cultures, and you will make new friends for life. Please friends, should you have ANY questions about the process of applying, or what's it like in the States, student life, anything, hesitate not to ask me, for I am at your disposal. Zovem se Danko Tarabar, i trenutno treba da pocnem fakultet u jednom malom liberal arts fakultetu u juznom Wisconsinu, Beloit College-u. Najverovatnije cu studirati Ekonomiju i matematiku paralelno, ali mozda se budem predomislio i studirao ekonomiju i politicke nauke. Apliciranje na americke univerzitete nije lako, ali ako ste fokusirani i znate sta zelite, imate dobre sanse da uspete. Naravno, samo biti fokusiran nije dovoljno. Da nije bilo ljudi iz IAC-a (Elizabet, Piksi, Vedrana...), ne bih uspeo. Mnogo su mi pomogli oko moje aplikacije, oko SAT i TOEFL testova, da ne spominjem tek moralnu podrsku! E sad, zasto studirati u Americi? Jos tokom srednje skole u New Hampshire-u (zavrsio sam 4. razred gimnazije u Americi), sam primetio koliko su samo nasa dva obrazovna sistema razlicita. Americki obrazovni sistem je fleksibilniji, svestraniji, i nudi vam nebrojene mogucnosti za sta zelite da studirate. Usavrsicete vas engleski, naucicete mnogo o drugim kulturama, i steci cete nove prijatelje za ceo zivot. Molim vas prijatelji, ako imate BILO KAKVA pitanja u vezi sa procesom apliciranja, ili cak kako je u Drzavama, studentski zivot, bilo sta, nemojte se ustrucavati da me pitate, na vasem sam raspolaganju.
