administrator Posted September 16, 2019 Report Share Posted September 16, 2019 The department of Computational Methods in Systems and Control Theory at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems, Magdeburg, Germany offers a Ph.D. position working in model order reduction for computational fluid dynamics Expected Requirements: Master's degree or equivalent (obtained or to be available soon) in Applied Mathematics, Computational Mathematics, Computational Science and Engineering; Familiarity with numerical methods for solving partial differential equations and ordinary differential equations, e.g., finite element method, finite difference method, or finite volume method; Familiarity with basics of model order reduction, numerical linear algebra, and/or system and control theory; Experience in programming with MATLAB or C++; High motivation in academic research; Excellent oral, reading and writing skills in English. The successful candidate will be sponsored with competitive salary according to German TVoD E13 (75%). English is the working language.
