administrator Posted September 28, 2019 Report Share Posted September 28, 2019 The Department of Mathematics at California State University, Fullerton invites applications for a tenure-track position in applied mathematics at the Assistant Professor level with appointment to begin in August 2020. Candidates for this position should be applied mathematicians with a background in computation, numerical analysis, machine learning, and mathematical modeling (with preference for statistical modeling). Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting research resulting in publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, directing faculty-student collaborative research, and advising students. The successful candidate will contribute to the mathematics community at CSUF through teaching, research, professional activities, and service on committees. In particular, they will be expected to solicit industrial consulting projects for our graduate program in applied math, mentor the students in completing these projects, and participate in the transdisciplinary Center for Computational and Applied Mathematics (CCAM) within the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. Required Qualifications The qualified candidate must have a Ph.D. in applied mathematics or a related field, plus at least one year of post-doctoral experience either in research, teaching, or a related industrial field.
