administrator Posted August 22, 2021 Report Share Posted August 22, 2021 A fully funded 3-year PhD studentship is currently being advertised in the department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Strathclyde, under the supervision of Dr. Gabriel R. Barrenechea. The project is on the topic of "Positivity-preserving finite element methods", and it is within the context of a Leverhulme Trust grant also including the universities of Leicester and Bath. The funding is open to students from any nationality. A good bachelor, masters, or equivalent degree in mathematics (or applied mathematics, or a related field), and the knowledge of the finite element method (and its analysis) are essential requirements. Some experience with coding of the finite element method (or the use of finite element software) is also desirable. The selected candidate is expected to start as soon as possible, with the 1st of March as latest possible start date.
