Students hail from a variety of geographic, educational, and work backgrounds, yet all are individuals interested in educational policy leadership, innovation, reform, and entrepreneurship in developing countries, in the U.S., and other OECD countries. Our curriculum emphasizes the comparative study of educational systems as well as the analytic skills to identify the core causes of education challenges, to generate opportunities to address these challenges, and to evaluate their impact. The core curriculum includes courses focusing on comparative and international education, policy analysis, and evaluation. During the program, students develop leadership and management skills to implement and supervise educational improvement projects and programs. In addition, numerous co-curricular activities engage the students in frequent dialogue with leading global education practitioners. IEP graduates are firmly grounded in an understanding of the relationship between education policy and programs and instructional improvement in the classroom in a variety of educational institutions. They also have extensive comparative knowledge of reforms and improvement programs and have the ability to work in a variety of institutional and geographic settings. In addition to teaching, our faculty are deeply involved with issues of practice. Students get to work with and learn from leading faculty who investigate the role of education policy in advancing educational opportunity. In addition to the core faculty at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, students in the program work with visiting faculty and with visiting scholars in the numerous international and area studies centers at Harvard University. Through cross-program and cross-school interactions, the IEP program offers students the advantages of the Harvard-wide community, which provides myriad opportunities to engage with and learn from scholars with diverse backgrounds, interests, and disciplinary understandings. Harvard is on a mission to become a truly global university in the 21st century. Numerous initiatives, projects, and a constant stream of students and visitors from all parts of the world reflect the determined pursuit of that mission. This creates a rich and stimulating environment where those of you interested in global educational leadership will thrive. 3.

  9. May 28, 2010 Embassy of the United States of America Belgrade Nonimmigrant Visa Application Fees to Increase Worldwide June 4 Beginning on June 4, 2010, Machine-Readable Visa (MRV) application fees will increase to ensure sufficient resources to cover the rising cost of processing nonimmigrant visas. For a number of reasons, including new security enhancements, the $131 fee set on January 1, 2008 no longer covers the current, actual cost of processing nonimmigrant visas. The increase will be implemented worldwide. Under the new schedule of fees, applicants for B1/B2 tourist and business visitor visas will pay a fee of $140. The vast majority of Serbian applicants apply for B1/B2 visas, which validity for Serbian citizens was increased on May 20th from three years to ten years. This means that 10-year visa will be valid for multiple entries and the visa fee will be paid once in every ten years. Applicants will be required to pay the full fee in effect on the day that they apply, regardless of when they paid. If an applicant has already paid their MRV fee at the bank prior to the date of the fee increase, the difference between the old and the new fees will be collected at the embassy during the applicant?s interview. 10. The Evarts A. Graham Memorial Traveling Fellowship was established in 1951 by the American Association for Thoracic Surgery. Funded and administered through its Graham Education and Research Foundation, the Fellowship grant supports study by young cardiothoracic surgeons from outside North America at sites of their choice within North America and include travel between sites. Goals of the program are to broaden overall training and increase international contacts. Each Fellow should plan to have one primary center for his/her activities where he/she should spend six to nine months. The Fellow should have identified an individual at that center who will act as his/her sponsor and assist in planning the course of study at the host institution and at other institutions. In addition to the primary center, the Fellow is encouraged to plan to spend shorter periods of time at other secondary centers to enhance the Fellowship experience. Awards are made to surgeons of unique promise who have been regarded as having the potential for later international thoracic surgical leadership. Since the inception of the Graham Fellowship, 57 young surgeons from 29 countries have completed the Fellowship. The candidate must be a non-North American who plans a training program in a North American center and who has not had a significant training in North America prior to making application. PROGRAMS IN THE U.S. International Scholarships available at American University Washington College of Law EducationUSA hosted a webchat on LL.M. Programs in the U.S on May 20, 2010. Rosie Edmond, Assistant Director of Admissions for the International Legal Studies Program (ILSP) at American University Washington College of Law answered questions regarding application procedures, scholarships, the bar exam and careers in law. Useful links: International Legal Studies Program - Washington College of Law, American University www.wcl.american.edu/ilsp Summer Programs open to law students at American University www.wcl.american.edu/summer/dc INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS: To find out more about full-tuition and other partial scholarships offered to international students, visit: www.wcl.american.edu/ilsp/scholarly_competitions.cfm Highlights of the session: Q: I'm Armenian by nationality I got a higher education (degree) in Armenia. Now I would like to apply for a scholarship for LL.M. programs in the U.S. Do I have any chances to get a scholarship? Rosie Edmond: Yes, you should apply to the Fulbright grant, but also check with the schools directly. Some (but not all) have scholarships for foreign lawyers. American University offers 5 full scholarships for our LL.M. in International Legal Studies. Q: What do you think makes applicants competitive for those 5 full scholarships available for an LL.M. at American? Rosie Edmond: Excellent writing skills because it is solely based on that. The scholarship requires the applicant to submit a 750 word essay on a major international legal issue and a 250 word essay on what that winner would do to give back to the Washington College of Law community. They use the essay to judge legal knowledge and writing skills. Q: I will apply for LL.M. programs in the USA this year. My goal is to receive the Magister Degree. I have a diploma of Specialist of Law with honors and some work experience. Do I need to pass a specific exam for LL.M. or just the TOEFL? What is the required score for TOEFL? Rosie Edmond: Most LL.M.s require the following: Application form, TOEFL/IELTS/PTE, 2 letters of recommendation, transcripts and degree certification. American University requires 93 but other schools might be higher. Q: Greetings from Denmark. I would like to know how you view (or others you know of) work experience when applying for an LL.M.? Many Danish students want to go straight after their bachelors (first professional degree in Denmark). Can that be a problem? Rosie Edmond: That depends on the school and the program. For AU our LL.M. wants both recent grads and those with work experience in order to enhance the program's diversity. Some more business oriented programs may want applicants with more experience. Sorry this is not a one size fits all answer. Q: Greetings from Ukraine. I know that many universities in the USA require students to pass the LSAT. What is the required score for LSAT? Rosie Edmond: The LSAT is only required for JD programs and not for an LL.M. The top schools will only accept applicants in the 90% (Harvard, NYU, etc.) The highest score is 180. Q: As a European student, can you practice as a lawyer in the U.S. once you have completed an LL.M? Rosie Edmond: In order to practice law in the U.S., you need to pass the bar. Please note that each state has its own bar, so if you pass the bar in NY you can't practice in California. Also if your goal is to practice in the U.S., an LL.M. is not a shortcut. I suggest applying to a JD program. Many of our graduates, however, do pass the NY bar but end up working at the World Bank, IMF or other international organization or firm. Q: What kinds of internships do students do? Is it difficult for international students to find an internship? Rosie Edmond: As long as they are law related, a student can be an intern practically anywhere. Here in DC the opportunities are endless. We have placed students at the World Bank, IMF, OAS, embassies, and law firms. Most schools have a career office where students are given tools on how to market themselves. Q: I have learned about the WCL Summer Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law - is it connected in some way to the LL.M. Program? Also, are there scholarship available for this particular event? Does one have to attend WCL to be eligible for the Academy? Thank you. Rosie Edmond: Yes, the HR academy is connected, although admission is separate. The HR, International Arbitration and International Environmental law academies are independent from the LL.M. program, but are all part of WCL. They are open to practitioners, law students and professors. Students interested in pursuing an LL.M. can transfer up to 4 credits to the ILSP. The academies have their own scholarships, but the ILSP does offer special scholarships (for the LL.M.) for participants of these academies. The academy takes place here in DC but most of the professors are Human Rights experts from all over the world. HOW I GOT INTO HARVARD WITH FULL FINANCIAL AID Ana Angelovska, a senior from NOVA high school in Macedonia, received a full scholarship at Harvard and shared her success story with high school students at the American Corner Skopje on April 29th, 2010. Key points she mentioned that contributed to her getting accepted, other than academic performance and test scores, include: - a carefully crafted personal statement; - obtaining references from several sources, including: teachers, her college counselor, and a community service coordinator; - highlighting her volunteer and community service experiences as extracurricular activities. What was the biggest challenge for Ana? "For me, the most challenging admission process was the writing of the supplements, because some schools do not make interviews, and those supplements are the only glimpse of your personality that you input in your applications. All of the rest is grades and data." She recommends starting your college search early and devoting enough time to prepare the application package. 14. Otvorene prijave za eksterni program za pripremu za osnovne studije - namenjen djacima van Beograda

U istom tom intenzivnom periodu rada organizuje se 24 radna sata on line podr?ke o ?kolama, apliciranju, finansijskoj pomoći i strategiji prijema.

Intended to complement the College's Yarbrough Dissertation Fellowship program the post-doctoral program creates a one-year teaching fellowship in the humanities or humanistic social sciences for holders of PhD's who come from under-represented and disadvantaged backgrounds. The program seeks to attract recent recipients of doctoral degrees whose research focus is in international fields of study, including comparative or cross-cultural scholarship. The College will also provide some allowance to cover research, travel to conferences, and professional expenses. To be eligible, candidates must have completed a PhD in a humanities discipline or humanistic social science discipline from an accredited university prior to the commencement of the fellowship. Generally, the program seeks fellows with doctorates in one of the following fields: African Diaspora Studies, American Studies, Anthropology, Art History, Asian Studies, Classics, Dance, Drama, Economics, English, Environmental Studies, History, Humanities, International Studies, Legal Studies, Modern Languages and Literature, Music, Philosophy, Political Science, Public Policy, Psychology, Religious Studies, Sociology, and Women's and Gender Studies.
