Basque: Research Technician, Position, Applied ML

Basque Center for Applied Mathematics - BCAM is offering a research technician position in applied machine learning to work with Aritz Perez at Machile Learning research line. As a Research Technician, your main responsibilities will revolve around programming, scientific writing, literature review, and training. You will collaborate closely with the research team, utilizing your programming skills in Python to implement machine learning algorithms and analyze data. Additionally, you will engage in comprehensive literature reviews by reading and analyzing scientific papers, staying up-todate with the latest advancements in the field. Continuous learning and skill development through training programs will be essential, providing you with the opportunity to start a rewarding research career. Your ability to produce well-structured scientific texts, including research papers and reports, will be crucial. Furthermore, you may occasionally contribute to smallscale Spanish reports for applied projects. This multifaceted role will provide you with valuable experience in various aspects of research and development in the field of machine learning, setting a solid foundation for your future in the research community.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering. Strong programming skills in Python for machine learning applications. Proficiency in formal scientific writing in English. A master's degree in machine learning or a related field is highly valued.

Skills: The preferred candidate will have: Background in Computational Fluid Dynamics. Background in Finite Element and Finite Volume methods. Background in Reduced Order Models (ROMs) and surrogated models. Good programming skills (bash, C++, Python &) Knowledge of Linux OS. Interest and disposition to work in interdisciplinary groups.

The candidate would preferably be in possess of: Experience of using OpenFOAM.
