Wilton-Lyndeborough Cooperative seniors were given the opportunity to attend a help session on college applications on Wednesday and Thursday.

Seniors were able to bring their questions with them while attending one of the two sessions, which took place during class. Because application deadlines are fast approaching, many college-bound seniors are hard at work on the application.

This workshop, put together by Dolores Neilan, one of the senior advisers, was a great opportunity for seniors to receive guidance on their applications. Furthermore, the guidance office puts in a significant amount of work on the part of college-bound seniors.

"The application process is stressful, but Mrs. Coffey is always there to help," senior Ashley Makela said of Sharon Coffey, the guidance secretary.

College-bound seniors also highly appreciate whatever help the teachers can give them. Whether writing recommendations or proofreading their college essays, they're important in their eventual acceptance into college.

Application deadlines aren't the only thing on seniors' minds. They're struggling to fund the yearbook. Because this expense is so high, their class bank account is feeling the strain.

"Money is needed for the yearbook; otherwise, its quality will be reduced," said senior Lauren Cyr, the editor of the yearbook.

Many fundraising ideas have been implemented to raise the money. For example, this week, the seniors plan to make and sell fudge. They're also selling candy by the main entrance to the school at the end of the day and plan to sell candygrams.

"We need the people of the community to rally behind us if we are to raise the money," senior Sharon Lemire said.

The seniors have a lot of work ahead of them if they plan to pay for the yearbook. Many more fundraising ideas having been bouncing about, and everyone in the class is strongly urged to participate.

It's only through the cooperation of the class as a whole that the money can be raised.
