The successful candidate would have expertise and background in the areas of numerical optimization, numerical linear algebra and machine learning; on topics ranging from sparsity recovery, graphical models, network analysis, matrix completion, and large-scale optimization algorithms for problems in machine learning. Applicants must have a PhD in computer science, applied math, statistics, electrical engineering or a related field. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Starting date can be as early as Summer 2010.
