The journalism field has radically shifted. But when you're working endless hours and juggling two or three beats, it can be tough to make sense of it all.

That's why the Kiplinger Program is offering short-term fellowships designed to help you make better use of new online tools and channels. This is your chance to update your skills and learn cutting edge strategies to reach broad audiences.

In one intensive week, Wednesday, March 30 through Wednesday, April 6, 2011, you'll learn how to use social media to build a following, develop sources and more effectively cover your beats. We'll talk Twitter, deep web searches, digital footprints, SEO, the backchannel and more (click here to download an initial list of workshop sessions).

You'll also learn how to tell powerful online stories that break through the noise and grab attention. Stories that help people understand why in-depth reporting matters more than ever. Stories that make a difference.

You will leave the program with new connections, new ideas and new skills to take back to your newsroom.

You can also log in later for additional coaching sessions ? getting feedback, tips and ideas from renowned journalists.

And to ensure your whole newsroom benefits from this fellowship, we'll even offer your editor or colleague the option to attend our three-day condensed version of the training in mid-June.

Thanks to the strong support of the Kiplinger Foundation, this training will be offered free-of-charge? plus we'll provide lodging and a travel stipend.

So, if you know you're ready for digital media training that is short-term, hands-on and highly relevant, apply now for our fellowship.

Click here to view the application or apply for our fellowship. Since our application is a survey, you must complete it all at one time.

Application deadline is November 30, 2010.

We'll let you know by January 15, 2010 if you're accepted.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact Patti Confar at confar.4@osu.edu

Be a Kip. Be a leader in the digital age.
