I. Scholarships and Fellowships

OHIO UNIVERSITY GATEWAY SCHOLARSHIPS UP TO $15,500

Merit scholarships are available to freshmen international students who take the SAT exam and begin their studies in the fall quarter through the Gateway Award Program.

Award amounts are based on combined Math and Critical Reading sections of the SAT exam and range from $6500 (score of 1130) to approximately $15,500 (score of at least 1400). Awards are renewable for up to 4 years.

The application deadline for the Fall 2011 quarter is February 1, 2011, but we recommend applying by January 1 for full scholarship consideration.

COMMUNITY OF SCHOLARS PROGRAM FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AT AMERICAN UNIVERSITY

American University (AU) is now offering the 'Community of Scholars' summer program, a college-credit high school program at the AU School of International Service. This summer program offers students entering their junior and senior years of high school the chance to broaden their understanding of international affairs by enrolling in a college class in foreign policy, conflict resolution, or global health and the environment. Several program formats are available, including online and residential options.

COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY ANNOUNCES THREE WEEK SUPER INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAM

Columbia University American Language Program (ALP) is offering a three-week super-intensive Winter Institute in January 2011 in New York City. Classes will meet for 24 hours per week from January 4 - January 21, 2011. This program is ideal for international students who would like to improve their English skills and study at American University over a short period of time. Students study reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation University housing is available but students must apply early, as space is limited.
