Postdoc position at the NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY, Department of Mathematics

The Mathematics Department at North Carolina State University invites applications for two two-year postdoctoral positions beginning as early as Fall 2011, assuming availability of funding. We are seeking exceptionally well- qualified individuals with research interests compatible with those in the department. We are particularly interested in candidates with backgrounds in electronic structure calculations and/or quantum chemistry.

Candidates must have obtained a Ph.D. in mathematics or a closely related field prior to the start date, and must demonstrate research excellence, strong oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to effective teaching. The Department of Mathematics has strong research programs in both pure and applied mathematics. Many members of the department participate in interdisciplinary programs and research groups on campus and in the broader Research Triangle community.
