Call for Submission of Proposals for Western Balkans Collaboration Projects in Arts and Culture

Balkans Arts and Culture Fund (BAC) supports regional, collaborative artistic and cultural projects conceived by organisations from and implemented within the region of the Western Balkans, specifically the following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.

BAC is aimed towards fostering inclusive, democratic, and prosperous societies in the Western Balkans by strengthening the cultural sector, and encouraging regional collaboration and integration. In this context,

Independent cultural organisations, networks, foundations and/or associations
are invited to submit ideas for 
Western Balkans Collaboration Projects in Culture and Arts

Applications must be made in collaboration of minimum two partners coming from two of the countries listed above. Additional partnerships with organisations from other European and Mediterranean countries are welcome however the applicant and at least one other implementing partner must be organisations from the Western Balkans.

Collaboration projects should specifically contribute to the following:

• Broadened accessibility of and participation in quality, innovative, engaging culture programs
• Increased collaboration and long term partnerships between independent cultural organisations in the region
• Increased inter-sectorial collaboration
• Increased capacities of independent cultural actors

Submission and deadline: duly completed project idea form should be submitted at bac@artanglebalkans.net, not later than on Sunday, 08 September 2013. Any additional material, submissions in incorrect form, delayed or incomplete submissions will not be considered.

Selection process: The BAC team will review submitted project ideas against eligibility criteria and conditions of this call. Eligible applications will be assessed by regional advisers. Selection of project ideas to be further developed into full project proposals will be made by mid-October 2013.  Pre-selected applicants will be contacted directly and will be offered technical assistance in development of full proposals. The full project proposals are to be developed by mid-December 2013.

Grant amount, start-up date and duration: Maximum grant amount available per project is 40’000 Euros.  Awarded Western Balkans Collaboration Projects are expected to start implementation as of 1st January 2014. Envisaged project duration is up to 24 months.
