2014 Programs at Uni of Pittsburgh School of Law

Recommended Posts

In August 2014, we will welcome our 20th Master of Laws (LL.M.) class at Pitt Law. The limited size and personal nature of the Pitt Law LL.M. program allows integration into the J.D. and larger law school community, as well as special travel opportunities and a summer internship after graduation with one of the many law firms or corporations that call Pittsburgh home. Additional information on the program can be found at: http://www.law.pitt.edu/academics/international-lawyers-programs/llm.

In late July and early August, we will also offer our U.S. Law & Language Program here in Pittsburgh. This two-week program invites students and practitioners from around the world to come to Pittsburgh for a unique and rewarding introduction to the American legal system, legal English, and legal education in the United States. Further information and application procedures can be found at: http://www.law.pitt.edu/academics/cile/eflprogram.

July 2014 will mark the 5th year CILE has co-sponsored with the Institute of International Commercial Law & Dispute Resolution in Zagreb & Zadar, Croatia. This four-week course is approved for both US and European credit, providing the essentials of International Business Transactions, International Sales Contracts, and International Arbitration. The five credit (US) program culminates with each student preparing a written memorandum and presenting an oral argument before a mock arbitral tribunal comprised of distinguished arbitration experts.  The program also offers cultural activities, including visits to Croatia’s Supreme Court and Constitutional Court, and trips to Plitvice Lakes and Kornati National Parks. The program website and online application are available at http://www.law.pitt.edu/files/attached/cile/croatia_brochure_2014_final.pdf.
