administrator Posted February 10, 2023 Report Share Posted February 10, 2023 We would like to invite candidates with a strong background in applied+computational mathematics and/or computational physics for a funded 4-year PhD (Dphil) position at Oxford University, Mathematical Institute, to start in fall 2023. The PhD topic is titled "Reliable and efficient sketching algorithms for randomised Principal Component Analysis", and will work broadly in randomised numerical linear algebra, developing algorithms, theory, implementation and applications. The student will be supervised by Yuji Nakatsukasa (Oxford University) and Hussam Al Daas (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, STFC). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be hosted by both the Numerical Analysis Group at the Mathematical Institute (Oxford University) and the Computational Mathematics Group (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, STFC).
