Gonzaga men's basketball assistant coach R-Jay Barsh confirmed in an Instagram story Sunday that Serbian forward Pavle Stosic will be joining the team as a freshman for the 2023-24 season.

The 6-foot-8 forward joins the Bulldogs with three seasons of experience playing internationally in Spain. He spent two seasons between Casademont Zaragoza and the Zaragoza U18 squad before joining CBP Huesca in the Spanish LEB leagues. Following a minor role with the club in 2021-22, he started in three games and made 16 appearances last season, averaging 3.4 points and 3.3 assists.

In between professional stints, Stosic represented his home Serbia at the FIBA U18 European Challengers in 2021. The Serbians finished second in Group A behind Spain as Stosic contributed 6.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game in five appearances. He dropped 12 points on 3-for-7 shooting with nine rebounds in a win over Georgia.

Stosic provides even more depth and size for a Gonzaga squad that's loaded at the wing/forward position. With 6-foot-7 wing Steele Venters likely to start, Mark Few's bench will consist of Korean forward Jun Seok Yeo (6-foot-8), Croatian forward Luka Krajnovic (6-foot-5) and freshman Dusty Stromer (6-foot-6) while 6-foot-10 forwards Ben Gregg and Braden Huff are also expected to compete for minutes in the frontcourt behind Anton Watson and Graham Ike.

The addition of Stosic, who will have four years of college eligibility, leaves Gonzaga with one scholarship remaining heading into the 2023-24 college basketball season. The Zags also added Southern California Academy product Joaquim Aruz Moore as a walk-on last week.
