Recommended Posts

Applications are invited for a position within the Department of Mathematics at the University of Houston in the group of Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Yunhui He, with a research focus on the development of efficient solution algorithms for linear and nonlinear problems. Duties will include development and analysis of algorithms and their implementation in a high-performance computing environment. A desired, but flexible, start date of June 2024 is expected. The initial position will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal for another year. Opportunities for teaching may be available, if desired by the successful candidate.

A PhD degree with emphasis on applied mathematics or scientific computing is required, with a preference for experience in computational PDEs, optimization, eigenvalue problems, computational science, numerical linear algebra, and/or nonlinear solvers, such as Anderson acceleration. Previous interdisciplinary project experience is a plus.

The application must include a cover letter, a CV, and contact information of three references letter writers.

Interested candidates should apply at: https://uhs.taleo.net/careersection/ex1_uhs/jobdetail.ftl?job=STA013664&tz=GMT-06%3A00&tzname=America%2FChicago.
